Overview

What this course covers

Welded structures — frames, steel constructions, sheet metal weldments — require their own modeling discipline in Creo Parametric. This course covers that discipline end to end: preparing assemblies for welding, building weld features, and producing the documentation that carries a weldment into manufacturing.

The course follows the working sequence an engineer uses on a real weldment: assembly preparation, structural members, weld beads and weld geometry, weld symbols and annotations, then verification and manufacturing drawings. Top-down design methods and reference control are covered for larger welded systems where assembly relationships have to be managed deliberately.

A practical project closes the course — a welded frame assembly carried from modeling through welds and symbols to manufacturing drawings.

OUTCOMES

What you'll learn

Prepare assemblies for welding and build welded assemblies in Creo Parametric

Create weld features — weld beads, fillet welds, groove welds, intermittent welds, and custom weld geometry

Apply welding standards and symbols to engineering drawings, and generate weld annotations and automatic weld tables

Design welded sheet metal structures with correct corner and edge weld preparation

Apply top-down design methods — skeleton models and external reference control — to large welded structures

Run interference analysis, gap control, and weld mass-property calculations before welding

Produce manufacturing-ready welded assembly drawings
