Overview

What this course covers

The EZ Tolerance Analysis tools in Creo Parametric let engineers model how dimensional variation accumulates through an assembly. This course covers that workflow end to end: preparing models with correct dimensions and references, building tolerance loops, running worst-case and RSS calculations, and reading the results back into design decisions.

The work is organised around mechanical assemblies — clearance and interference conditions, fit types, and stack-up chains across single and multi-loop systems. Each topic is paired with a practical example, and the course closes with project work in which engineers carry an analysis from problem definition through to a design improvement.

OUTCOMES

What you'll learn

Set up a model for tolerance analysis — correct dimensions, datums, references, and assembly structure

Build tolerance loops and identify positive and negative contributors in a stack-up chain

Run worst-case and statistical (RSS) tolerance calculations and interpret the results

Analyse linear, angular, and combined stack-up systems, including multi-loop assemblies

Evaluate clearance, interference, and fit conditions in mechanical assemblies

Use sensitivity analysis and risk evaluation to support design optimisation

Produce tolerance reports and integrate them into engineering documentation
